{"id":696,"date":"2006-06-05T09:55:39","date_gmt":"2006-06-05T17:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.edtechpost.ca\/wordpress\/2006\/06\/05\/bc-educational-technology-users-group-spring-workshops\/"},"modified":"2006-06-05T09:55:39","modified_gmt":"2006-06-05T17:55:39","slug":"bc-educational-technology-users-group-spring-workshops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottleslie.ca\/edtechpost\/wordpress\/2006\/06\/05\/bc-educational-technology-users-group-spring-workshops\/","title":{"rendered":"BC Educational Technology Users Group Spring Workshops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of my other destinations last week was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bccampus.ca\/Page621.aspx\">BC Educational Technology Users Group annual Spring Workshop<\/a>, this year held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nic.bc.ca\/\">North Island College&#8217;s<\/a> lovely Comox Valley campus.<\/p>\n<p>If the workshop schedule was actually reflective of current practices in BC, then you&#8217;d be led to believe we have almost ubiquitous adopting of elearning 2.0 in the province &#8211; 2 different wiki workshops, a podcasting session and blamb&#8217;s always entertaining and educational <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sociallearning.ca\/SpringWorkshop2006\">social software tsunami<\/a> (with guest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darcynorman.net\/\">D&#8217;Arcy Norman<\/a>, who we keep letting into the province, but I told him he better just move out here or else we&#8217;ll start asking to see his papers!) BCcampus&#8217; Executive Director, David Porter, has a good writeup on <a href=\"http:\/\/knowledgewranglers.typepad.com\/cognitivecocktail\/2006\/06\/john_maxwell_of.html\">one of the wiki sessions<\/a> as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/knowledgewranglers.typepad.com\/cognitivecocktail\/2006\/06\/etug_spring_wor.html\">invigorating opening session by journalist Mark Schneider<\/a> over at his <a href=\"http:\/\/knowledgewranglers.typepad.com\/cognitivecocktail\/\">new blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darcynorman.net\/2006\/06\/02\/solr-sharable-online-learning-resources-for-bccampus\">D&#8217;Arcy has mentioned<\/a>, I also made my small contribution, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edtechpost.ca\/gems\/ETUG-SOLR.ppt\">a Web 0.1-ish session<\/a> on our new service, <a href=\"http:\/\/solr.bccampus.ca\/\">SOL*R<\/a>.
